The Sofil Lo Bianco Marmi is managed by Gioacchino Lo Bianco and his brother Francesco but sinks its origins from the experience of the founder Pietro Lo Bianco who over 60 years ago together with the Lo Bianco brothers founded the first historical leading company in the southern Italian market for over half century.

SOFIL PRODUCTION PROCESS
The SOFIL production process is divided into specific and well-distinguished working phases which are the function of the individual orders;
Each working phase is programmed by production managers in order to comply with strict pre-established criteria;
With an experience of over 60 years, Sofil is able to adjust production according to specific customer requirements, by an order of a few pieces in order of several containers;
All Sofil’s production processes have been in the quality and environment for over 10 years in compliance with the international standards ISO 9001 and 14001

Store raw department
SOFIL chooses marble blocks directly from the caves around the world, selecting the best materials available; the blocks are sent to the sawmills and after being transformed into plates of various thickness, they are shipped to the sofil warehouse

Resin department
The resin operation increases the mechanical strength of the marble; the plate is sprinkled with a particular resin that penetrates inside the cracks and interstices present by welding the empty spaces. This operation will be carried out on a special line, consisting essentially of two self-propelled trolleys, two ovens, a ventilation system, a vapor suction system and a roller conveyor.

Cut machine department
The cutting of slabs is carried out by means of semi-automatic machines operated by operators.
They, depending on the job, perform the cuts trying to minimize the waste depending on the characteristics of the slabs.
Sofil has in total tree semi-automatic machines and one Numeric Control.

Polished department
The polishing operation takes place through an automatic roller machine on which the operator put the slabs to be polished.
The operator can decide the rool speed and the type of abrasive to be used;
Our machine use the abrasive with a “Frankfurt” connection that is the most used.
This machine, like the others automatic machine,uses water to cool the surface and don’t create airborne dust.

Edging department
Too the edging operation takes place through an automatic roller machine that with a particolar abrasive can realizze the honed or polish edges on the marble pieces and the drip on the marble slabs.
This machine is posizioned in line with the polishing machine so that the output pieces from the first go directly into the second machine.

Handcraft department
In the manual machining department, operators perform finishing and control on previous operations or special machining operations such as shaping, round profiles, contoure edge, sink holes etc.

Packaging department
In the packaging department, wooden boxes of every size are made using polystyrene, plastic and packaging materials inside to ensure that the finished product can reach every corner of the world safely.
