Billemi Grey

DESCRIPTION

Billiemi gray marble is excavated from the quarry of the mountains of Palermo, a few kilometers from the headquarters of SOFIL Lo Bianco Marmi.

The “Billiemi stone” or Grigio Billiemi or Billiemi, is a very hard stone, has predominantly greyish coloration and a low absorption.

Used for over 1,000 years, Billiemi is present in monumental works such as the Quattro Canti di Città, within Casa Professa in Palermo, or in the restoration of ancient streets of the historic center of Palermo (basole).

In modern times it has been happily used in Germany, Japan, USA and always meets the favor of the architects both for its physical characteristics (see laboratory test) and for the particular gray color that favors the uses both inside and outside exterior of buildings.

The Billiemi is perfect to work on the surface that increase its character and Sofil offers in addition to the classic honed or polished surface also modern finishes obtained with water jet machines.
